Christmas Camp #5

Last but not least, here's the 5th card I'm doing at my camp. It uses the Home For Christmas set from SU! I love the detail in this image :) I stamped in with black stazon, colored the image in with markers then added some green & white fun flock for the door wreath and snow. I tried to emboss the image first but that didn't work well with added the fun flock.
I used the new in-color Soft Suede for my base, along with Real Red and Merry Moments DP. This image fit perfectly on the Top Note Die, which I also used inside the card. I added a piece of red ribbon for that extra touch.
Now off to design some invitations for my son's FIRST birthday!!!
Have a great weekend!

My First Blog Award!

Yesterday I was pleased to discover that Diane over at 1 Card Creator
awarded me with the "Honest Scrap" award! Now I'm supposed to pass it along to 5 other deserving crafters and share 10 things about myself.
The 5 I'm going to give this award to are.....

Anita at the The Hovey Hut , Anita is my SU! Upline and she is a VERY talented lady!

Next is a lady I met on Planet Paper Craft, Myrt whom cards I always LOVE and she is always so gracious. You can visit her at Myrt's Card O Craft.

I met the next lady on Splitcoast, Lynn at Stamperosity, Lynn is a very busy lady who designs for Gina K and I'm always inspired by her creations!

Next up is Shell at Stamping Art Innovations, one of my Sisters of the Sisterhood of Blogging Stampers, Shell has a great blog full of ideas and inspiration :)

Finally, last but NOT least...Wendy another one of my "sistas". Wendy is truly an inspiration, not only with her paper crafting but with the battle that she faces everyday. Her strength is amazing and I can only hope to be as strong as this lady if the time ever comes. Check her out at Any Time of Life, It's Good to Be Alive!

So now 10 things about myself....hmmm let's see...

1. I have 3 children, 2 from my first marriage (Abby age 11 & Lucas age 9) and 1 from my current and LAST marriage (Liam, almost 1 year).
2. My cat Sockey is older than Abby, he's almost 14!
3. I've worked for the Nova Scotia Liquor Corp for the last 5 and 1/2 years in the Merchandising division and LOVE my job!
4. I love to sing and do so often at church :)
5. I'm hooked on the Twilight series and can't wait for the New Moon movie this November!!
6. I'm addicted to coffee, chocolate and hugs from my kids.
7. I only like rainy days when I don't have to go out and can stay home wrapped in a warm blanket with a good book.
8. My BIGGEST pet peeve is sitting in traffic....I hate hate hate it!!!
9. I spend to much time on Facebook and not enough time in my craft room.
10. My husband is my very best friend in the whole wide world and he was actually the Best Man at my first wedding....THAT should get ya all talking! LOL

Thanks for taking the time to "get to know me" and congrats to the above 5 talented and amazing women!

Christmas Camp #4

I'm home from work again today, feeling a little better but still got that achy tiredness stuff going on....blah....

Anyway....here's the 4th card that I'm doing at my Christmas Camp. This one uses the Snow Swirled set with Whisper White, Garden Green and Merry Moments DP. You can't really see from the picture but I used dimensionals to pop up the tree and the star on top. I also added some stick on rhinestones for some holiday bling.

I'll be back later day to share a blog award I received yesterday!

Christmas Camp #3

I'm home from work today with a bad cold, but since I'm all drugged up on Advil Cold & Sinus (that stuff rocks btw) I thought I take the time to post the 3rd card for my Christmas Camp.

This one I cased from Splitcoast, as soon as I saw it I knew I would use it for the camp. It's such a simple yet elegant looking card. It using both the Snow Swirled and Heard from the Heart stamp sets from SU! The snowflakes are embossied in white on Real Red cardstock with the sentiment stamped in Real Red on Whisper White card stock. A wide piece of white satin ribbon finishes the card. Can't wait for the ladies to see this one at camp, I'm sure it will be a favorite!

Thanks for dropping by, come back tomorrow for card #4!

Christmas Card Camp #2

This is the second of five cards I'll be doing at my Christmas Stamp Camp in November. This one is done with the new Tree Trimmings and Christmas Greetings sets in the new 2009/2010 SU! Idea Book and Catalogue. I used Garden Green, Very Vanilla and Merry Moments Designer paper along with Real Red and Garden Green ink. For the ornament "ribbon" I used the Gold Metallic Encore pad and added some gold brads. A piece of Chocolate Chip ribbon finishes the card.

Wow, I've managed to post 2 days in a row! Think I can go for a third tomorrow?? I'll try!

Splitcoast Wed Sketch!

I love doing sketch challenges, but I really love doing them when I am actually making a card for someone for a special occasion! One of my closest friend's husband is having a birthday tomorrow so this card is for him. He's a pro-golfer so the Many Mower stamp set from SU! was par-fect....LOL.

I used Always Artichoke with Manchester DP...I love those colors! I added a few vintage brads for some masculine embellishment.

Happy Birthday Doug!

Mojo Monday #103

Here's my submission for this week's Mojo challenge along with the sketch. I did another Christmas Card, you'll probably see a lot of Christmas from me for the next few months.

For this I used Real Red again for the base as well as more of the same left over Christmas paper I used for the Cuttlebug card. The verse is from the Snow Swirled set and I embellished the card with some Real Red brads and large/jumbo white brads....I stamped a snowflake onto the jumbo brad with red stazon ink.

Thanks for coming by to take a peek!

Cuttlebug Sunday

OK....so this challenge wasn't posted until after I went to bed last night, but better late than never, right?

This week's challenge was to use your cuttlebug anyway you wished but to use the sketch provided. Here's the sketch and my card, my FIRST Christmas card for 2009! I fiqure I better start making Christmas cards since before I know it December will be here!

The base is Real Red embossed with the snowflake folder. I used some left over Christmas paper from last year for the side stripe and my scalloped oval nestie for the verse. the stamps are from the Snow Swirled and Scenic Season SU! sets.

Time to Smarten Up!

Things have been sooooo crazy around here since I last posted. Now that the kids are back to school it's time I got back into finding more time to stamp and keep this blog updated! Since I last posted I also decided to end my maternity leave a few weeks early so I'll be headed back to work on September 14th. I've been trying to think up ways that I'll be able to balance work, baby, the kid's schedule AND my paper crafting.

I have come up with a "Stamping Schedule" for me to try and follow so I can do some of the weekly challenges that I love as well as do some stuff on my own. Here's what I came up with and what you can expect to see on my blog starting this Sunday:

Sunday - Cuttlebug Challenge on Paper Craft Planet
Monday - Mojo Monday
Tuesday - Paper Makeup Stamps Weekly Challenge
Wednesday - Splitcoast Stampers Sketch Challenge
Thursday - Kim's Own Thang!
Friday - Stamping Bella Challenge
Saturday - Paper Craft Planet Sketch Challenge
My goal is to spend at least 30 min after the kids are in bed in my craft room every night. So hopefully my little schedule will help to keep me on track, especially once I return to work. I'm excited to start with the PMS & Stamping Bella challenges, I've had some of their stamps for awhile now so it's about time I start participating!
Thursdays will be my time to plan out what I'll be doing at my Stampin Up! workshops and Stamp Club and share it here :)
Now I'm off to draft my monthly newletter for my customers, have a GREAT day and I'll be back on Sunday with a Cuttlebug creation.
Thanks for dropping by,
Kim :)

Mojo Turns 100 - Day 4

As promised here is my card for Day 4 of the Mojo 100 celebration!

I decided to do a simple card with only 2 colors, Rich Razzleberry (my new fav) and White. White ribbon, a big flower from the SU pretties kit & a few large brads added just enough embellishments. I embossed the sentiment in white, this card only took me about 10 minutes :)

Hope you're all having a great week, see ya tomorrow!

Mojo Turns 100 - Day 3

I didn't have a chance to post this yesterday, so here is Day 3 on Day 4!

For this one I used a basic white square for the base and Raspberry Tart designer paper from SU! The rub ons & buttons are also SU and the stamp was an old one I had for years.

I'll be back later with my card for Day 4, thanks for dropping by!

Mojo Turns 100 - Day 1

After about a week "off", I'm getting back at it with today's Mojo Monday, which is actually the first for the week. They are going to post a different sketch each day this week and I'm going to do each one even if it kills me...and in this heat that may very well happen! LOL
For today's card, I used Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo & Razzleberry Lemonade designer paper. The stamp set is Crazy For Cupcakes and I embossed one of the brads from the Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware kit with some Razzleberry ink. The ribbon is some stuff I've had around and I think it could pass for Crushed Curry another one of the new SU In-Colors.
Thanks for looking!

Mojo Sunday???

What a week!! Trying to spend as much time with my two oldest before they left for 3 weeks with their father didn't allow for much time for my crafting! I did have my Mojo card done this past Tuesday then time got away from me and I'm just posting it now :)
This week I used my newly aquired set from Paper Makeup Stamps with Chocolate Chip ink/card stock and Bella Rose Designer Paper. I also used some Hodgepodge Hardward and Jumbo Brads from SU!
Tomorrow me & the DH are off to Bangor, ME for a few days. It's our first trip without Liam, whose 9 months and staying home with Grammie :) Ahhh....3 days with NO children!!!
Thanks for stopping by and when I get back from my mini vacation I promise to get back on track with my blogging!!

Arranged with Love

Wow, the week went by and I haven't posted since Tuesday! That's what a sick baby will do!

I recieved my prize from Gina K almost 2 weeks ago and finally had time to make a card with it :) I LOVE this set, it comes with the flower background stamp and 10 different phrases for the "card" in the middle. I stamped the image with black versafine then embossed with clear EP. I popped the card out by stamping it again and using pop ups. I used watercolor pencils & blender pens to color...not sure how much I like it...the coloring that is...maybe I just need more practice? Oh well, all in all it's a beautiful set that will get lots of use I'm sure!

Bridal Bella :)

This is the card I did for last week's sketch challenge on PCP. I used another image from Stamping Bella which I think is too adorable! I tried the glossy white card stock from SU! which I ran through my bug with the large scalloped oval nestie. I like the look of the glossy for a wedding card.

I hoping to do some more today, but Liam is cutting another tooth and he has a cold. So it's not looking good for me and my craft room....maybe if he finally crashes for a nap I'll be able to sneak down there :)

It's Monday!!!

It's Monday, which means it's time for Mojo! For this week's challenge, I decided to kill two birds with one stone and use it for the weekly cuttlebug challenge that I usually do over on PCP.

For the bug challenge this week we were to run a stamped or patterned paper through our bugs with an embossing folder. I chose to use some Raspberry Tart with the Divine Swirls embossing folder. For the images I used one from Stamping Bella, isn't she sweet? I watercolored her with my new watercolor pencils from SU! which I used with blender pens.

Thanks for dropping by!

Crazy for Cuttlebug & Razzledazzle

Wow...it's Friday ALREADY! The week went by toooo fast, before I know it I'll be back to
work :(
Here are a couple of cards I did this week for two different challenges.

The first one was for the weekly cuttlebug challenge over on PCP. I used both the Swiss Dots & Divine Swirls emobossing folders and the scalloped square die. Then I used the new Love Bug hostess set from SU! I think this card would be cute for a little girl's birthday :)

The second card is for the weekly sketch challenge on Splitcoast. I received some of the new in colors this week from SU! The colors in this card are Rich Razzleberry & Melon Mambo along with the Razzleberry Lemonade designer paper. I also ordered the new Butterfly punch that goes with the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set. This punch will be getting LOTS of use :)

Hope you enjoy my creations, have a GREAT weekend and thanks for checking in!

Mojo Monday!

In case you haven't already figured it out, Mojo Monday is one of my FAVORITE challenges :) I finally recieved the Verve stamps that I ordered and used them on today's card. This is the "Because of You Set" and it is Beautiful! Because they are the clear stamps I used Versa Fine in Sepia to stamp them with. I find that ink works really good with the clear stamps, although the Stampin Up ink works ok as well just not as good.

I think I'll be making more of these cards for Mother's Day :)

Hope you enjoyed your Monday and thanks for stopping by!

Oh Baby!

I was blog surfing last night and came across a cute template for this baby card, I thought it was toooo stinking cute!! However, I forgot to bookmark the blog that I found it on and when I tried to find it again I couldn't :( I'm gonna keep looking though and when I find it I'll share the link since I don't want to take credit for someone else's idea! So stay tuned :)

Mojo Monday #94 - FINALLY!!

OK...so I still haven't received the stamps I ordered from Verve, not sure why they aren't here yet, but I really wanted to finish this card TODAY! So I used a set I DID receive today in my SU! order :) It's from the "A Kind Word" set, another cute one. I used Bella Rose designer paper and practiced more coloring.

Stand Up!

So far my new verve stamps have not yet arrived *pout* so my Mojo Monday card is still on hold....in the meantime though here is the card I did for the Try a New Technique challenge over on Splitcoast. It's a stand up card, you can decorate both sides, I chose to leave the back alone since I used the Parisian Breeze card stock and the pattern is so pretty. On the inside I added a piece of white card stock and stamp a sentiment from the God's Blessings stamp set from SU! Added a few felt flowers, brad & ribbon and that's it, a cool variation of standard sized card that will still fit in a regular envelope :) Oh yeah, I used one of the Martha Stewert punches as well.

Hopefully TOMORROW I'll be able to finish and post my Mojo card!!

BFF!

I FINALLY recieved some stamps I ordered from Stamping Bella...here's the first card I made using the Best Friends Forevah stamp, isn't it tooooo cute? The "So Happy we're Friends" seniment is also from Stamping Bella. I used Candy Lane designer paper with Red Rising Hood ribbon. I'm not too happy with my coloring job, I REALLY need to practice that!
I tried scanning this card rather than using my camera, I think it turned out better with the scanner....ya think??

I'm hoping to post my Mojo Monday card later today, I'm just waiting for my new Verve stamps that SHOULD (fingers crossed) arrive today!

Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers #28

I joined the Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers and part of the requirement was to post a short bio of myself for the others in my group to read. So here it goes......

My name is Kim, I'm 36 (ack!) and I live in Nova Scotia where I was born and raised. I have 3 beautiful children - Abigail 11, Lucas 9 and Liam 8 months. I'm the very lucky wife to Terry :) I work full time for the Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation and have 3 months left of my maternity leave (which has gone by TOOOOOO FAST!!!).

I've been stamping and making cards for the last 5 or 6 years but never really got into it until this past March when I signed up as a Stampin Up! Demonstrator. Now I'm a stamping fool! So far into my Stampin Up! "career" I've been able to host several workshops and have was promoted to Sr. Associate in May! Once I go back to work I'm hoping that I can continue to teach at least 1 workshop a month and find a way to stamp like crazy.

I'm looking forward to getting to know the other Stampers in SBS #28 and I can't wait to start visiting their blogs to see thier awesome creations. So, to all you talented ladies - Welcome to my blog and thanks for taking the time to become part of the Sisterhood!

Circles and Sand

I hope everyone had a great Canada Day! I did even though the sun didn't make an appearance but that always gives me more time to spend in my craft room :)

The brown card was done for PCP's weekly cuttlebug challenge. We had to sand our paper after we embossed it. To do this I brayered some chocolate chip ink over some vanilla card stock. Then I ran it through my bug using the Divine Swirls folder. Using some Sand paper I sanded off some of the ink to reveal some of the vanilla. Cool and easy technique!

The circles card was done for the Wednesday sketch challenge over on Splitcoast. I think it's cute, but I think I'll have to make a custom made envelop for it. I used my circle punches with the Think Happy Thoughts set.
